Tennis Club etiquette will in the final analysis, be dictated by the individual and collective wishes of members of Victoria's Virtual Tennis Club. Expected items of etiquette follow, while the suggestion box can be used to suggest changes that will, from time to time, result in modification to these items of club etiquette.

Update your current club listing under the page 'Update my Listing' whenever there are changes to surnames, phone contacts, addresses, and other listed information.
Update your availability for play every weekend, under the 'Update my Listing' page. This is extremely important to assure that those who are looking for a match that week or the following week are viewing current information, and are not wasting their time in phoning you to inquire as to your availability for play.
If you are unavailable for play that or the following week, say so by clicking 'no' under the option 'Available to play' at the end of the  'Update my Listing' page. Again, the effort here is to avoid the wasting of member time in setting up matches.
If you want to book a court, check court availability with 2 to 3 options, before calling anyone to set up a match. Use the page 'Court Availability' to assist in your selection of court options, either inside or outside.
Once you have secured a match that appears of interest to you, confirm other players phone numbers, residence and business, so that if you have a problem of any type in getting to your match, you are able to inform the other participants.
Now book your court. If there are any changes to what you discussed with other players, let them know immediately.
If you must cancel or withdraw from a match, whether you set up the match, or were phoned to play in a match, proper etiquette would suggest you do so at least four [4] daylight hours before the scheduled match. Your responsibility lies in arranging and selecting another player of similar caliber to play in your place, assure knowledge of match location and time, and pass on phone contacts, so that the 'match goes on".
Once you are at your match location, it is suggested the player arranging the match pay the booking fee promptly, and confirm booking is correct. Then, before starting your match, obtain other players portion[s] of the match booking fee. Note, do not be bashful; this should be promptly done to assure there are no misgivings or misunderstands at a later time.
Etiquette during the match is to be in accordance with each persons best standards, and in accordance with generally accepted tennis standards of the Pacific Northwest. If some guidance is required, refer to sites on our 'Tennis Sites & Health News' page.
Inappropriate behaviour either on or off the courts, inappropriate use of member listings, or abuse of membership in any way, will not be tolerated by the management of this club, and will be cause for removal of a club member's name from the club roster.
Bring water, juice and goodies; you may want to relax and socialize after the match.
Enjoy your match, have fun, and look forward to more of the same!
