Tennis for Health The many benefits we all derive from the many aspects of this great game of tennis, are well known and well documented. We bring you these brief comments to remind you of these benefits, and to encourage you to keep active in one of the best 'lifetime' sports available to us.

1. Body Benefits:
  • Tennis as a sport and social outlet is absolutely one of the best. It is well known that tennis provides to the recreational player, the triple benefits to body, mind, and soul. Although it is not our mission to convince the reader of this, we might mention a few key points.
  • Body benefits include keeping most of the main muscle groups of the body trim and active. Cardiovascular fitness is improved, especially from those vigorous matches. Stress and anxiety are diminished. Mind benefits include concentrating on the game rather than things that might be bothering oneself, providing a measure of endorphins to the brain, and relieving stress and anxiety. Soul benefits include fun, relaxation, confidence building, and general feelings of well-being and peace of mind.
